New York Cost of Living

The cost of living in New York is not cheap. Prices are high for locals but international visitors buying with sterling or Euro can get some great bargains. New York has the highest taxes, housing costs, energy bills, health premiums and grocery prices in the entire country. New York is now ranked the 8th most expensive city on earth (2010)
