If your in the city during the summer and want a fabulous and beautiful break from the urban scene head out to the famous FIRE ISLAND

Take the LIRR(Long Island Railroad) from Penn Station on 34th St to Sayville then grab the shuttle bus to the Ferry and your in paradise

NO CARS just wooden boardwalks and  Bicycles There are 2 distinct communities on the island

THE PINES Which is full of Gay professionals and feels a bit like Chelsea by the sea

And THE GROVE which is a bit more diverse and has both the younger and oleo crowds

Between the two "Towns" is a small strip of forest locally called "the Meat Rack"
